Warm Days and a Happy Holiday

Well Easter has flew the coop and Mother's Day is here!

I have a very special Mom who always goes out of her way to do things for others without thinking of herself. I haven't made it to town to get anything for my Mom, so I thought I'd make her something I hope she will enjoy instead!

I was working on an upcycled wall pocket inspired by Somerset magazine for a swap on swap-bot, and thought it would be perfect for tucking in a little bit of happiness to send her way!

I first located a pair of jeans that needed upcycling, then cut closely around the pockets leaving the back layer of fabric intact so it can actually be usede as a pocket. I layed out what I wanted to decorate with- a qoute and some embellishments, a wire hanger, beads, ribbon- glued it together and there you have it!

A simple but sweet suggestion for a gift- a "mug rug" or minurature quilt
around 5"x7" that is just large enough for a mug or tea cup and snack to fit
instead of a large placemat, perfect for a coffee break or teatime!
Bundle with a darling mug and her favorite drink mix- coffee, hot chocolate, or tea,
and a little treat- muffins, cookies, or crackers.

Some handmade dangles would add a CHARMING addition to her day, too!

Simple and cute, and room for some treats and card! Hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day!

Kiwi's Blog Follower Swap #3

This is a post for a swap on a wonderful place, Swapbot!  You can find many people who enjoy making and doing so many different things, from all over the world!  My favorite things are to join swaps generally in art/craft related swaps, but you can swap just about anything on swapbot.  Here is their address: http://swapbot.com/  For this particular swap, we get to take a trip around blogland and meet some new friends, leaving comments along the way.  So much fun to meet new people!
